MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Javier Betancourt hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to lead the Biloxi Shuckers to a 9-8 win over the Mobile BayBears in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday.
Josh Uhen struck Jared Walsh out with a runner on first to end the game for his first save of the season.
The BayBears tied the game 8-8 in the seventh when Michael Hermosillo hit a two-run triple as part of a three-run inning.
Reliever Matt Ramsey (3-1) picked up the win after he walked one while allowing three runs and three hits over 1 1/3 innings. Tyler Warmoth (0-1) went one inning, allowing one run and one hit while striking out one in the Southern League game.
Johnny Davis tripled, doubled and singled, scoring two runs in the win. Jacob Nottingham homered and singled, scoring two runs.
Several BayBears chipped in at the plate, as five players recorded at least two hits. Hermosillo tripled and singled twice, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two.
